Tim Slonaker Asks for Atlanta Assembly Plant Workers
My name is Tim Slonaker a member of UAW Local 3520 out of North Carolina. I was hired in the Atlanta Assembly Plant in 1988 and proudly represented my co-workers for twelve of those years. Since the plant closed in October 2006, I have decided to finish my Bachelor’s degree at the National Labor College (NLC), the only labor college in the world located in Silver Spring, MD. I am happy to say that I am on track to graduate February 2009 with a double major. In order to complete my senior thesis titled “NAFTA’s Promises and Its Effects on Atlanta Assembly Plants Union Workforce.” I will be conducting surveys on those workers that transferred from the Atlanta Assembly Plant to another Ford plant. I will be conducting a second survey on those Atlanta Assembly Plant workers who accepted a union negotiated special early retirement or buyout. If you worked at the Atlanta Assembly Plant and would like to help me by filling out a survey, please send me an email with your name, address, and phone number.
Thank you,
In Solidarity
Tim Slonaker
