As I read the stories that have been submitted by myself and others on this website I feel the pain experienced by Jaron Quetel, a union member in California, who is the subject in one of the videos on Roger Markin's story.

The idea of thousands of California union workers banding together and marching to draw attention to the plight of America's working class people is exactly the type of actions that are necessary to get this country to understand how important it is to support "your own". The chants of "Wall-Mart sucks" should have been followed by chants of "Buy American". This is especially true in California where it seems that far too many Americans are purchasing foreign made goods such as the Toyota Prius: a car built entirely in Japan and who's profits also go directly back to Japan. It is time this country starts supporting its own and buying cars made by union workers of the big 3. GM, Ford and Chrysler vehicles are built by union workers and the profits from the sale of these vehicles stays right here in the United States. I know the first argument against the Big 3 is that a lot of their operations and parts are built and even assembled overseas, however the profits on those vehicles stay in our country. The practice of outsourcing is a direct result of American companies trying to compete in a globalized economy, forced on us by companies such as Wall Mart. The governments of these foreign auto companies help support and subsidize their auto companies. Our government does not. Our government seems to be intent on destroying our auto companies with unreachable C.A.F.E mileage standards that may ultimately destroy the American Auto companies and with them the middle class. A Unions strength comes from the unity of its members and the members of all unions, banding together to build a better life for American's. Support your country...buy American made goods.
